She has a younger sister, Sinead. In 2012 she won the So You Believe You're Funny Award twice. Bea's surname is in honour of her father who passed away. In honor of her dad, she chose the stage-name Bea and in 2017, wrote an article about suicides and deaths that affected her family members for The Guardian. Bea was fostered by her sister Sinead and her mother Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer as well as a former professional racer. Their family was in love with racing meetings and horses. Bea started her journey as a tour-guide for the Irish National Stud. However Bea realized at an early age that the racing industry wasn't for her.
